Why is sex and nudity forbidden for kids to see in entertainment but violence is not?

Why is sex and nudity (even in a non-sexual sense) censored from kids entertainment, but violence is okay? It's acceptable to subject children to see violent sports like footbore, thugby, boxing and wrestling, hatred, violence and death but manifestations of love, romance and the human body as it is are taboo. I don't get it.
